in which I share my planned reading for the week ahead
Fall is in the air. Pumpkin spice lattes are back at Starbucks. Football season has kicked off. My pinterest board is full of fall and Halloween decor inspiration. Ahh…breathing in the fresh air. Well, not really; those of us in the lower third of Minnesota are under a heat advisory today.
But all this talk of fall and excitement made me want to get a jump start on planning my creepy, horror reads for October reviews. I chose two somewhat long books and one short book, so I decided I should start reading now in case I lose reading time again this month. So, on my Nook I’m reading Dracula by Bram Stoker.

What are you reading this week? Is the season inspiring your choice of books?
I’m doing this sort of backwards, but I’m reading The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova now (Dracula-related) and I’ll actually be reading Dracula in October. Hopefully still close enough together that I can tease out all the connections. 🙂

Oh, I listened to The Historian a couple years ago and thought it was great.
We should do a tie-in with the Dracula posts!

I’ve never seen the movie, but I’d love to watch it after finishing the book. I’ll let you know on the love story part; I believe there’s a love story aspect to it, but I don’t know how strong it is.

I am reading THE NINE FOLD HEAVEN by Mingmei Yip.
I am out of town and not getting too much reading done, but I am having fun. Went to a Hachette book event and received 9 books. The event was FABULOUS. I am still here visiting my son.

9 books? Great score! I love going to vacations and taking a break, but I do get sad when I don’t get to read while there. I hope you have a great time!
